#The raid movie movie#
That said, I highly recommend this movie to you if you’re a fan of action movies, at least if a nearly inhuman level of violence doesn’t bother you too much. Few action movies have had as seismic an impact on audiences (and the industry) as The Raid and The Raid 2. Deep in the heart of Jakartas slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the worlds most dangerous killers and gangsters. To get the lay of the land, their leader spends a few days in the town and finds he is getting drawn into its life-especially into that of an attr. This isnt a case of plagiarism, however, as Dredd distinguishes itself with its unique dystopian future. A group of Confederate prisoners escape to Canada and plan to rob the banks and set fire to the small town of Saint Albans, Vermont. While this vague plot description fits The Raid, it is also the synopsis for Dredd. However, I have to (choose to) judge movies holistically, and The Raid’s lack of a plot means that I’m not going to give it the perfect score that its choreography and minimalistically savage tone deserve. A cop is trapped in a high rise building crawling with lowlife criminals. The Raid: Redemption has none of those constraints (how it didn’t get an NC-17 rating for violence is beyond me). Even a fantastic movie like John Wick has to make concessions to the preferences of Western audience for things like a story and meaning and an R-rating. In an episode of the 'Empire Spoiler Special Podcast' released in April 2020, 'Raid' director Gareth Evans revealed why he has yet to start work on 'The Raid 3' and why he. And few if any of those imitators have surpassed the level of carnage and physcial detail that this movie contains. Colonel Mucci's men have been asked to lead a POW raid.but they're finding that both time and intel are in short supply. When it first came out in 2011, the quality and intensity of its fight scenes were so far above what any other action movie had done that it spawned countless imitators. Starring: Benjamin Bratt, Robert Mammone, Max Martini, James Franco, James Carpinello. What starts as a tactical, stealthy raid on a criminal safe house soon turns into a fight for survival as the SWAT teams cover is blown.
So what’s the verdict? If I were to judge this movie exclusively on what it’s intended to be, I would give it a perfect 10. Most people associate action films with big blockbuster films like First Blood or any of the James Bond films, but not all action films are created equal. The Raid: Redemption lulls viewers into deceptive familiarity as Brimob special forces infiltrate an apartment block to arrest crime lord Tama Riyadi (Ray Sahetapy).
